TOYO TIRES Participates in the Nürburgring 24 Hours
31 May 2021
TOYO TIRE Corporation (Headquarters: Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture, President & CEO: Takashi Shimizu, hereinafter, TOYO TIRES) announces that they will participate in the "Nürburgring 24 Hours" (49th ADAC TOTAL 24h-Rennen) in Germany from 3rd to 6th June 2021.

The Nürburgring 24 Hours is one of the most demanding endurance races in the world. Consisting of two courses, the F1 Grand Prix circuit, and the Nordschleife, the Nürburgring is notorious. With over 300m elevation changes and more than 70 corners in every 25km lap, the Eifel circuit presents a unique challenge. Due to the mountain micro climate, drivers in the 24H race can also expect sudden weather changes to complicate their race strategy. Extracting the maximum performance for 24 hours in unpredictable conditions, challenges both car and driver, providing an opportunity for TOYO TIRES to test its tires in the extreme.
In 2021, TOYO TIRES will again participate in the race with NOVEL Corporation*1 (Headquarters: Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture, President: Taku Watanabe; hereinafter, NOVEL racing,) This follows their entry in the 2020 race, having signed a partnership agreement last year. TOYO TIRES has developed tires for the TOYOTA Supra GT4 and LEXUS RC F cars, which will be entered by NOVEL racing and Ring Racing*2.
*1 NOVEL Corporation : The specialized LEXUS tuner develops and sells high-performance parts for the LEXUS "F" model. It has been participating in the race since 2016 and got the second and third places in the SP8 class in 2018.
*2 Ring Racing : The car tuner, which has been building racing cars near the Nürburgring for over 10 years.
In this year's "Nürburgring Endurance Series", held on the Nordschleife course, the TOYOTA Supra GT4 finished 2nd in class in round 2, while the LEXUS RC F finished 1st in class in round 3. Both of the race cars supported by TOYO TIRES start the 24H race having already achieved good results.
