Super 7 by Toyo Tires enters season with record entry list

7 April 2022

The new Super 7 Season 2022 starts in Portugal next weekend on April 9th and 10th. In total 44 cars and 54 drivers will participate. It is the highest number of participants ever. Three races at the Estoril Circuit and an exciting new regulation promise a spectacular start to the season at the Estoril Super Racing Series.

The best start ever, for what should be one of the most remarkable seasons in the history of the longest-lasting competition in Portuguese motorsport. The 14th edition of the Super Seven by Toyo Tires takes place between the 9th and 10th of April, with 44 cars and 54 drivers starting at the Estoril Super Racing Series. A new absolute record for national teams that illustrates the “growing interest in the competition promoted by CRM Motorsport and that will bring even more spectacle to the best races on the planet”, emphasizes its CEO, Tiago Raposo Magalhães.
With many new faces, crowded grids in the 420R and 320R classes, the support of a new technical partner, and a calendar that combines the presence of the iconic Caterham Seven on the best Portuguese circuits and emblematic international tracks, the Super Seven by Toyo Tires vindicates its status as the most competitive and exciting motorsport series in Portugal.
The increase in the number of entries is matched by the teams, with Gianfranco Motorsport, Garagem João Gomes and RP Motorsport joining Atomic-Mageltech, BCM Sports, BS Motorsport, CRM Motorsport, Teaam Nuoorte and Speedy Motorsport in assisting the drivers.

In addition to 17 rookies and four well-known faces who return to the championship and join the ever-growing 'Family Seven', the first round of the 2022 season will feature a new qualifying format consisting of two independent 15-minute sessions for the 420R and 320R categories, and points for the three fastest riders in the 420R, 420R Gentleman and 320R classes. Together with these changes are three races in which strategy will play an even more prominent role in the competition supported by Toyo Tires, Auditiv, Apple of Eden, Gupe, and GC24.
The traditional starting order based on the result of the timed practice will continue to be applied in the first race of the weekend. But in the following, the top 10 will be reversed based on the positions obtained in the previous race. As an example, the 10th place finisher in Race 1 will move from pole position for Race 2 and the same will happen for Race 3.
Sunday's races will be live-streamed on CRM Motorsport's YouTube channel and social media (Facebook and Instagram) of Super Seven by Toyo Tires (@supersevenbytoyotires). All information regarding this event can be reviewed at www.crm-motorsport.com.

Toyo Tires supports the Super 7 championship for the sixth year in a row now.
