Aiming for Class Win at Nürburgring 24H

Toyo Tire Holdings of Europe GmbH, (President: Kenta Kuribayashi), announces that, it will enter a team into the SP10 class of the ADAC Total Energies 24h Nürburgring. The race takes place this weekend, May 18 – 21.

The team, managed by Nürburgring specialists Ring Racing, comprises of two Toyota GR Supra GT4 cars, competing in the SP10 class. A team of over 25 personnel from Ring Racing are supported by Toyo Tires staff from Japan. The tyre maker will be bringing over 500 wet and slick tyres to allow the team to successfully complete the 24 hour marathon race. The Proxes slick tyre has been specially developed to cope with the challenging conditions at the Nordschleife.

Toyo Tires with Ring Racing team also participated in last years Nürburgring 24H, successfully completing the race, finishing P5 and P6 in class. Initially both cars set fast and consistent laps times, before mechanical issues took the lead car out of contention. With the experience gained from last year’s challenging race, this year the team have set their target on winning the class.

The SP10 class is for GT4 cars built to SRO specification which also compete in European GT4 races. It is a fiercely contested class and this year, 16 cars will face off, driving a range of different models including Aston Martin Vantage,  BMW M4 and Mercedes AMG race cars. This year the driver line up for car #70 will consist of Japanese endurance racer, Takayuki Kinoshita who was appointed Proxes brand ambassador by Toyo Tires earlier this year. Joining him in the race seat are German drivers Heiko Tönges, Tim Sandtler and Marc Hennerici. Car #71 will be driven by Andreas Gülden, Lance David Arnold, Michael Tischner with Toyo Tire brand ambassador Kinoshita also taking a turn at the wheel.

Toyo Tires uses the data and experience gained through participation in motorsports back to inform product development to deliver high-quality high-performance tyres.
