Toyo Tires with Ring Racing took first and second place in the SP10 class of the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers on Saturday, 13th April. The qualifiers were also rounds 3 and 4 of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie. Both Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO cars participated in the two races on Saturday and Sunday 14th April at the Nürburgring. In the first race, car No.170 qualified 4th for th 24 hour race, while car No.171 was 7th. Qualifying is set based on the fastest lap rather than the race order. Both cars had to overtake rival teams in quick succession, with car No.170 taking the lead in the race and car No.171 rising to second place. A one-two finish for Toyo Tires with Ring Racing.
In the second race held the following day, car No.171 ran well io finish in 2nd place. Car no.170 unfortunately had to retire. The Proxes Slicks (Nurburgring spec), which use sustainable materials, performed well and contributed to the victory.
Toyo Tires with Ring Racing manager Uwe Kleen said, "A one-two finish in the first race was the best result we could wish for as a prelude to the 24-hour endurance race. Despite experiencing vehicle trouble with car No.170 in race two, car No.171 fought well to finish in 2nd place. The Proxes slick tyres performed well and we look forward to similar performance in the 24-hour race. This is the most important race of the season, and we will resolve the mechanical issues identified in this race to be fully prepared.'' he said of his determination for the next race.
The Nürburgring 24hour race takes place on 1st & 2nd June. A full race program commences from 30th May for the biggest motorsport festival of the year in Germany.
