Toyo Tires wins NLS 1

Toyo Tires with Ring Racing P1 in opening round and 2nd the following day in round two of the NLS endurance series.

 

Toyo Tires, with partner Ring Racing, have won the SP10 class in the 1st round of the the NLS (Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie) race, known as the ADAC ACAS Cup, which took place on Saturday 6th April '24.

The Toyota GR Supra GT4, driven by Andreas Gülden, Tim Sandtler and Marc Hennerici completed 25 laps in the 4hr race at an average speed of 150.1 Kph. In the eight car SP10 class, the Toyo Tires partnered Ring Racing team finished a healthy 32 seconds ahead of the Aston Martin Vantage of Dörr Motorsport in second.

The team’s second Toyota GR Supra with Proxes Brand Ambassador 'Takayuki Kinoshita' at the wheel, (one of the 171 car drivers) also took the chequered flag but could only manage P8 having encountered problems in the race. The car, showing signs of greater performance to come, set a fastest laps just 3 seconds slower than the team’s winning race car.

It was all change for Sunday’s second round of the NLS. Dörr Motorsport’s Aston Martin bested the Toyota GR Supra GT4 by 65 seconds to take P1. The Toyo Tires with Ring Racing car number 170 had to settle for second place.

The second Toyo Tires with Ring Racing entry, car number 171 had a stronger race this time, finishing 5th, just 3m:15sec behind the lead after four hours of racing. In addition to Kinoshita, the car is driven by Michael Tischner and Heiko Tönges.

The NLS, is a six race endurance series of 4hr races with one 6hr race included in the program. The NLS is always a very popular race series with around one hundred entrants lining up for each round and sizeable audiences travelling to the Nürburgring to watch the action.

Sustainability
The tyres usesd for the race are comprised using a number of raw materials from sustainable sources. 
The latest Proxes slick uses plant-derived oil, rice husk silica, and recycled bead wire.
